Bio
I was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona and moved to Tucson to go to college. I grew up on both sides of the border and speaking two languages. I attended the University of Arizona and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. In my college years I worked for the school newspaper The Daily Wildcat. During my time at the Wildcat I worked as a cartoonist writing and drawing a daily cartoon strip called Sarape's Grill which ran for 4 years and was a semi-finalist in the MTVU college cartoonist contest. During my time with the Wildcat I also began freelancing with The Tucson Citizen Newspaper providing them with illustrations and political caricatures. Eventually, my freelancing lead to full-time employment with the Citizen where I enjoyed working as a staff artist and being the youngest member of the editorial board for 2 years, until the demise of the print edition. During these years I produced a weekly cartoon strip by the name of Coyote Wash as well as countless graphics, illustrations and caricatures for the oldest continuously published newspaper in Arizona, until 2009.
Currently I am a freelance illustrator and cartoonist.
